Kinds of names
Brandable domain
A brandable domain is a short, easy-to-say name that works as a brand even though it may not describe what the business does, such as Google or Spotify.
What Brandable domain means in practice
Brandable names are often invented or combined words. They tend to be easy to spell, easy to say and free of awkward letter combinations. Keyword names, by contrast, say what the site is about.
The Domain Score explains why a name scores as it does: length, how its words are used in real .com names, and how it reads.
Why it matters
A brandable name can be easier to protect and to remember, but it needs more marketing to explain. Check it against trademarks before you commit.
