Handle Matcher

Check one name across developer platforms and social networks, applying the naming rules of each platform. Platforms that cannot be read automatically get a link to open, never a guess.

Letters, digits, hyphens and underscores. Platforms have their own rules, and we apply them.

Only platforms with a public, reliable “does this exist” answer are checked live: GitHub, npm, PyPI, crates.io, RubyGems, Docker Hub, Bluesky and Mastodon (mastodon.social only). The big social networks hide this behind a login or block automated checks, so for those we give you the profile link to open; we never guess “free”. A handle can also be reserved or banned without being visible. Check trademarks before you build on a name.

Questions about the Handle Matcher

Which platforms does the handle checker cover?

It checks developer platforms such as GitHub, npm, PyPI, crates.io, RubyGems, Docker Hub and Bluesky where they give a public answer, and gives profile links for networks that cannot be read automatically.

Why does it sometimes only give me a link?

Where a platform gives no public way to tell whether a name is taken, the tool shows a link to open instead of guessing.

If a handle shows as free, is it mine?

No. A free handle can be taken before you register it. Claim it on the platform itself.
