Who we are
NameDaemon is run by Krasen Slavov, who is the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us through the contact page.
The free tools
The free tools need no account. The names you type are sent to our server to produce a result, and to answer, the server may ask other services about that name (DNS, the registry, the Internet Archive, public blockchain nodes and the developer and social platforms named on the About page). Those services see our server, not your device. To keep the site fast and to limit abuse, results are cached for a short time and a one-minute request counter is kept per visitor address.
What your browser stores
The theme stores your light or dark choice in your browser. If you subscribe to Pro, your browser also keeps the sign-in token that lets you open your alert settings without a password. We set no advertising cookies.
Visit statistics
To see which pages are used, we may count visits with Matomo, which we run without cookies, and with Google Analytics, which sets cookies. They record the page visited, the country, the type of device and browser, and how you arrived, not your name or email. They are never used on the Pro account pages, and a browser that sends Do Not Track is not counted. Where the law asks for it, Google Analytics runs only if you agree.
The Pro waitlist and Pro
If you join the waitlist or subscribe, we keep your email address, your keyword rules and your alert settings (and, if you choose Telegram alerts, your Telegram chat ID). We use them only to send you what you asked for: the daily alerts, a sign-in link, and messages about your subscription. We do not sell them, share them, or use them for marketing you did not ask for. The keywords you give us are matched against the .com zone and nothing else is done with them.
If you turn on AI notes, the names that matched your rules, and nothing that identifies you, are sent to Anthropic to write a short comment on each.
Watching a name
If you ask us to watch a name, we keep your email address, the name, and the dates and state we last saw for it. We use them only to send you the confirmation, and then one email about that name when it becomes available (and, if the address belongs to a Pro subscriber, one earlier when it is about to be released). If that Pro subscriber has connected Telegram, the same alerts are also sent to their Telegram chat. Every email has a link that stops the watch. A watch ends by itself after 12 months or after the final email, and a request you do not confirm within 7 days is deleted. The emails mention NameDaemon Pro in one line; we do not add your address to any other list.
The newsletter
If you subscribe to new posts by email, we keep your email address, the page you signed up on and the dates you asked, confirmed and, if you do, unsubscribed. We use them only to send you the confirmation and the posts. Each email carries a tiny image, and we note whether it was loaded (once per email), to see how many people read what we send; block images in your mail app if you prefer not to be counted. The confirmation comes first and nothing is sent until you press its button. Every email has an unsubscribe link. An address that unsubscribes is kept, with the date, so it is not written to again by mistake; ask us and we will erase it. We do not share the list or use it for anything else.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We receive from Stripe your email address, the state of your subscription and the payment dates and amounts, and we keep them for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records.
The contact form
Your name, email address and message are emailed to us and used only to reply. They are not stored on the website.
Why we may use it
To provide the service you asked for and to take payment (performing our contract with you); to keep the site working and free of abuse (our legitimate interest); and to keep accounting records (a legal duty). If we ever ask for your consent to something else, you can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until you delete yourself with the link in every message. Subscriber data is kept while the subscription is active and deleted on request after it ends, apart from the payment records mentioned above. Short-lived caches and request counters expire within minutes or days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Write to us through the contact page and we will answer within a month. You can cancel Pro at any time from its billing page.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for subscribers, by email.
